Mjolnir
Hammers Ltd. created this hammer aggregate trophy in 1999 in appreciation
of the continued support shown by athletes in making "Hevy Gear" the brand
of choice in Highland Games implements.
While all
divisions were given equal consideration it was felt the Masters 50 +division
was most appropriate. This hammer aggregate utilizes the scores from both
of the regular hammer competitions added together to determine the best
hammer thrower of the day.
This traveling
trophy has been awarded at a different venue each year to recognize the
selected game for their efforts on behalf of the Master athlete and also
to attract the best Master hammer throwers from around the country, to
foster camaraderie and sharpen the the competitive spirit in the old guys,
better known as the "MASTERS".
In 2001
the trophy was successfully contested across all masters brackets using
a modified decathlon scoring system. Yes, Virginia this is a keeper
In 2005, due to the unfavorable rate of exchange with the British Pound
